Our Story
You will have to look long and hard to find a company like
TDI Services. Kevin Bryant set out on an adventure in 1994 to start a company that did what no one else would. His approach was simple.
Design lawn programs to manage the microorganism component of the soil in order to promote and sustain the health and well-being of the turf and ornamentals that are grown in that soil. He placed such a great importance on microbiology because without an understanding of this science, no sustainable management strategy could truly be formulated.
In 1997, Kevin and Chris Gregory opened the doors of Turf Doctor of Birmingham (now TDI Services) and the same business philosophy applies. Chris was originally a spray technician for Kevin in the Madison branch and moved to the Birmingham area to start this location. We started off with one truck in an old gas station in downtown Bessemer, today, we have seven service trucks on the road! We moved to our current location, off I-459 in 1999 and have been proudly serving the Greater Birmingham area for over 20 years; from Gardendale to Calera and Talladega to Tuscaloosa, we have a program to fit your needs.
We train our technicians and encourage all of them to obtain their Ornamental Turf & Pest Services state license. TDI Services conducts regular team meetings to ensure that our technicians are well trained and informed about the latest trends and products, all of this in addition to the Continuing Education Units that are required to maintain their state licenses. So when a TDI employee steps onto your property, you know they are well versed in what needs to be done. We also work closely with the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for a second opinion on tough lawn or plant problems.
